History

1950 – 1990

At the early fifties, Mohamed Hassan Dorra & Co, was completing its first decade of construction both in domestic buildings and in active service for its country in war efforts. Amidst the turmoil, the company was nationalized with the late Eng. Mohamed Dorra remaining as the chairman of the company now known as Al Gomhorya Public Contracting Company. In the early Seventies, Eng. Hassan Dorra started a new construction company, headed and guided by his father and completed its efforts on all fronts, expanding to become one of Egypt’s leading contractors building landmarks all across Cairo.

1990 – 1998

Dorra Group has expanded its reach by establishing its first sister company in the United Arab Emirates. Driven by a passion for excellence, we have collaborated with several international companies to construct iconic landmarks in Cairo, such as the First Residence, the city's most luxurious residence, which features Egypt's first Four Seasons Hotel. Utilizing its extensive building expertise, we have consistently been the preferred contractor for complex buildings throughout Egypt. Over the past decade, Dorra Developments has undertaken projects in Sheikh Zayed and Shorouk City, with CRC-DORRA as the primary contractor, resulting in the creation of remarkable living landmarks in new communities.

1999 – 2009

We pushed the limits of engineering by constructing Egypt's first building with four underground basements, utilizing cutting-edge dewatering techniques and composite materials in the construction of landmarks such as Faisal Islamic Bank, Cairo South Courts, and the Egyptian Radio & Television Extension. With a rich history of developing resorts and coastal projects, such as the Marina in Alamein, we also expanded our portfolio to include the tourism sector, building two five-star luxury resorts in Sharm El Sheikh. Combining the development expertise of the Dorra Group and the technical experience of CRC, the first Iberotel and Renaissance hotels in Egypt have been constructed. In addition to its UAE branch, which has been operating for over a decade and continues to build iconic projects. The Group has opened its second international branch in the state of Qatar.

2010 – 2015

During the revolution in Egypt, we made a commitment to maintain our workforce without any layoffs. Construction work continued in all of our projects. Capital Business Park in Sheikh Zayed, developed by Dorra Developments, constructed by CRC, and managed by Dorra Group's Arab Facility Management company opened for business. In the UAE and Qatar, numerous projects were underway, with more landmarks being added to the list of projects. Many clients are now working with us, forming strong relationships and building even more iconic structures across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha. Additionally, we partnered with Binladen in Saudi Arabia and has opened its third international branch, undertaking various projects in Makkah, including the King Abdullah Holy Haram Extension.

2016 – 2021

Construction work is progressing on all fronts in Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, and KSA, with expanding our branches to Oman and Azerbaijan. In Egypt, we formed partnerships with several developers such as Emaar Misr, New Giza, Imkan, and Palm Hills. In the UAE, a new Guinness World Record has been set for the largest letter on top of a tower, located on AMA along the famous Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. In Qatar, we successfully completed the largest multi-use project in the country, the lavish Vendome Mall, which boasts 1.25 million square meters of premier shopping, residential, and hotel space, making it the biggest complex of its kind in the Middle East.
